Development of Metering and Billing Verification Guidelines to Facilitate the Audit of Telecommunications Operator’s Billing Systems for Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority

Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA/ the Authority) hereby invites experienced Citizen Individuals to submit an expression of interest for Development of Metering and Billing Verification Guidelines to facilitate audit of telecommunications operator’s billing systems in Botswana.

This Expression of Interest is available for ALL (Citizens Individuals experienced in metering/billing policy formulation or revenue assurance preferably domiciled in Botswana.
 
The Expression of Interest (EOI) documents may be obtained at the BOCRA office, BOCRA website at www.bocra.org.bw, or requested through email procurement@bocra.org.bw  between 0730 Hours and 1700 Hours. 

EOI documents should be submitted not later than 12:00hrs on 20 OCTOBER 2020 or such other later date as the Authority may advise in writing, to the following address:

SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF BROADCASTING SERVICES AND THE UNIVERSAL ACCESS SERVICE FUND TRUST

The Universal Access and Service Fund Trust (UASF), represented by Mr Martin Mokgware, BOCRA Chief Executive, and the Department of Broadcasting Services (DBS), represented by Mr Oshinka Tsiang, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Broadcasting Services, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to formally establishes modalities of cooperation between the UASF and DBS to fund training of media graduates and facilitate development and production of content for the DBS.

The signing of this MoA underscores the need for financial support and collaboration to develop the Arts and content creation.

The UASF is a fund established by BOCRA to extend Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) to unserved and underserved areas within Botswana. Through various partnerships, the UASF has funded ICT infrastructure development projects such as hotspots in hotels, airports, shopping malls areas, and has recently completed the Schools Connectivity and Computerization programme which connected 69 schools with broadband internet and computers in the Kgalagadi, Mabutsane and Ghanzi regions. The UASF has continued to extend private broadcaster FM radio signal to areas that until now did not receive private broadcaster FM radio signal. To be started soon, these projects will address Batswana in Takatokwane, Malwelwe and Salajwe villages.

Connect and Train an Employee Initiative

In 2014 BOCRA developed the ‘Connect an Employee’ initiative to ensure universal access to ICT and internet services for all. BOCRA urges the Government and private companies to connect their employees by procuring or subsidizing residential Broadband Internet for them.

Ensure that your employees are connected with at least 10Mbps of internet to enable them to work from home and observe social distancing as required by the Health Regulators. Prices for the 10Mbps range from as little as P599.00, to P1900.00 for other technologies. Please note that all these are published on the BOCRA website.

CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO CARRY OUT NEEDS ASSESSMENT OF THE ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA/the Authority) hereby invites experienced and reputable companies to tender for Consultancy Services to Carry Out Needs Assessment of the
Electronic Document and Records Management System. The consultancy shall mainly focus on conducting needs assessment in automating BOCRA records management system. The aim of conducting needs assessment in automating our records management system is driven by operational and strategic needs to improve the record keeping environment. Necessary information tools need to be provided to handle public information and the business objective. The consultancy shall also include the development, reviewal and update of the records management policies, procedures and guidelines.
The tender is reserved for 100% citizen-owned companies who are domiciled in Botswana and are registered with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) in any of the following categories;
