PUBLIC NOTICE - Mandatory SIM Card Registration for All Users in Botswana

The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) is mandated by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) Act of 2012 to regulate the communications sector in Botswana, and to ensure that all licensed operators are compliant with their licence conditions and the CRA Act 2012.

Pursuant to this mandate, BOCRA has mandated communication service providers to undertake compulsory registration for all SIM cards in Botswana.

The public is informed that the ongoing SIM-Card Registration process is done by their respective communication service providers and not BOCRA. To comply with this requirement, the public should visit their operators to register their SIM cards.

The public is further advised that the registration deadline is set for 31 March 2024. We strongly urge the public to ensure that their SIM cards are registered before this date to avoid any disruptions to their service.
