The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) was established through the Communications Regulatory Authority Act (CRA Act) of 2012. BOCRA is responsible for the regulation of the communications sector in Botswana, comprising Telecommunications, Internet, Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), Radio Communications, Commercial Broadcasting, Postal Services, and related matters.
BOCRA invites self-starters, motivated and qualified serving citizens to apply for the following the position:
POSITION TITLE: SENIOR OFFICE ASSISTANT - IT DEVELOPER (4 POSITIONS)
1. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To design and develop IT Solutions, supporting systems, network, and databases, updating system hardware and software including data security and optimization, troubleshooting system errors, and providing support to BOCRA users.
2. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- System Design and Development
- Software Development
- Software Testing
- Software Maintenance
- Software Documentation
- Software Bugs Resolution
- System Administration
- System & Network Security
- Server & Network Administration
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
- System installation and update.
- System Troubleshooting
- Helpdesk and Technical Support
- Consult with internal/external stakeholders on technology requirements
- Optimisation for all Technology Resources
3. QUALIFICATIONS:
BSc. in Computer Science, BSc in Computer Engineering/ BSc in Computer Networks/ BSc in Information Technology or equivalent, and any relevant short certifications courses in computer networking, Windows and software such as CEH, CISSP, A+, N+, CCNA, MCP, MCSE will be and added advantage.
4. EXPERIENCE:
- No work experience required.
- Strong technical skills including understanding of software development principles. Knowledge of programming languages including but not limited to Java, SQL, C++ and HTML5.
- Basic programming experience.
- Able to quickly adapt to a changing environment and learn newconcepts and software.

Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) informs the Public that Econet Media Botswana (Kwese) has filed it's intention to surrender its license and cease its Operations in Botswana with effect from 1st September 2019.
BOCRA Licensed Econet Media Botswana in June 2017 to provide Broadcasting Subscription Management Services.
Econet Media Botswana has Assured BOCRA that is has made all necessary Arrangements with it's Customers and interested parties to ensure amicable termination of it's services.

BOCRA informs the public and its customers that its Headquarters and Spectrum House (Phakalane) offices will be temporarily closed for walk-in services from Tuesday 13 October until Wednesday 14 October 2020 in line with COVID protocols. BOCRA services will remain available through online platforms. Both offices will resume normal service from 07:30 hrs on Thursday 15 October 2020.
BOCRA highly regrets any inconvenience caused by this sudden closure.
The 9th October is the World Post Day. The event is commemorated annually to mark the the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) creation in 1874.
The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the Post's role in the everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development.
